Day Trips From Vienna In February

The Danube cruise from Melk to either Durnstein or Krems might be a little chilly in Feb but you could still do the triangle by train to Melk then bus to Durnstein bus to Krems and then train back to Vienna. For budget savvy travelers taking the bus is the best option as prices can be as low as 10-15 Euros.
I did some googling and most day tours are closed till April. There has been a hilltop fort at the site of todays fortress since long before modern Vienna was founded.
