. Salzburgs other major claim to fame is that its the birthplace of Mozart. I would recommend allowing 7-9 days to visit these cities if you want to see everything and do it all at a leisurely pace.
Lets start off with the basics. 3 days for the city is enougn to see the most important tourists signs but to admire them to feel the atmoshere and not to run from one point of the excursion to another - 5-6 days The best time - sunday morning without crouwd in the center of city. 2 days in Hallstatt is very nice because it would give you plenty of time to see the city and to visit Dachstein.
In fact the capital city of Slovakia is a great option for a day trip from Vienna.
Id give Austria at least 10 days to 2 weeks if you plan to visit places other than Vienna. Although Vienna is Austrias capital when you envision Austria youre probably picturing the city of Salzburg and its surrounds. I think 2 nights in Salzburg is enough to see. I fell in love with Austria and think these cities are seriously underrated.
