Is Azerbaijan A Safe Place To Visit
. Dagestan is not a safe place to travel if you listen to official sources which is why I was very careful about when and how I revealed my travel plans to my parents. Azerbaijan is a great place to visit and definitely safe destination.
I was supposed to stay in this city only 3 days but I extended my visit. The US State Department website warns against traveling to Dagestan and my Russia Lonely Planet guide explains in great detail why it refuses to cover it and Chechnya in their 2012 edition. TRANSPORT TAXIS RISK.
The reason is quite simple.
Baku is a safe place with clean streets friendly people and fairly priced commodities. Doing some research and taking precautions when traveling is always necessary Azerbaijan is no exception. Armenia is overall safe to travel to with considerably low crime rates and even pickpockets not being that much of an issue.
